Omnia Molecular was founded by Dr. Lluis Ribas after 18 years experience with Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases at the Massachusettes Instutute of Technology (93-97), The Scripps Research Institute (97-03) and is a spin-off from his work as principle investigator at the Barcelona Institute for the Research in Biomedicine.

The company has closed funding negotiations headed by La Caixa Capital Risc, worth €2.1 Mio ($3 Mio USD). This round of funding, which was supported by the Empresa Nacional de Innovacion (ENISA), has also involved the founding partners of Omnia Molecular and the management team.

Omnia’s in-vitro lab facilities are on the premises of the PCB, in close proximity to the University of Barcelona and the resources of the CSIC research institutes.

The in-vivo facilities are on the premises of the the PRBB, which is also in close proximity to the Parc de Salut and Hospital del Mar.
