Infections caused by pathogenic mold (Aspergillus) and yeast (Candida) in immunocompromised patients.

The aim of the project is to find new lead compounds to inhibit the activity of arginyl-tRNA synthetaes (RRS) for Aspergillus fumigatus and Candida albicans. Candidates should exhibit good activity against pathogenic target and selectivity against its human counterpart. On top of it they should have a good ADMET profile and PK values in rodents.

Omnia's contribution will produce high quality hits which will lower the attrition rate associated to further screening steps. Following ADME and pharmacokinetics characterization new leads will be obtained. All drug candidates will be tested in trials on infections in animal models.
